POP Bakery started nearly 5 years ago now in my parents house in West Hampstead London. Me (Clare) and my mum (Judith) began with a very simple cake on a stick but were soon making intricate russian dolls and leopard print designs. They were instantly very popular with magazines and blogs, a personal hightlight for me was having our perfume cake POPs featured in a 5 page feature in British Vogue and of course my TV appearance on Paul Hollywood's Pies and Puds. We went from strength to strength with our little cake pop cottage industry and I even created our new range of edible paint POP Paint in my childhood home. However with boxes under every bed in the house and polystyrene climbing the walls of my parents 'walk-in-wardrobe' we outgrew my childhome and I had to start looking for a new base for POP Bakery. And last summer i found it!
We are now proud shopkeepers in Queens Park London. 2015 is going to be a very exciting year for POP Bakery. We now have ample space for all our packaging etc and a shop front, something I've dreamed of since I was a kid! The plan is to focus on our online sales during the week in the back of the shop and then every weekend open to the public for drop in POP Painting sessions and POP pickups. The advantage of coming to the shop for customers is that you can now mix and match designs rather than having to stick to the usual minimum of 8 per design. You can also pick up some other wonderful treats which I'm in the process of sourcing, all chocolate and party based (my two passions in life). Some of the wonderful creators we will be showcasing in the store include-
Amelia Rope Chocolate, Fatties Bakery, The Chocolate Society, Pinatas London, Pom Pom Factory, My Little Day, Wrap London, My Darling Clementine, Peter Cromer, Rifle Paper.
Finally you can also purchase our new Paint range and kit.
We will also be hosting cake POP painting Parties and info about this will be up on the website shortly. Great for Hen dos, Birthdays, Babyshower etc.
So I hope you are as excited as we are for this chapter for POP Bakery and that we'll see you very soon for drop ins and POP pickups!
